ORTWIN

  The program participates an register with approximately 63500 georeferenced towns and places of the Federal Republic of Germany. It serves the investigation of cities, communities and residential places, their zip codes, telephone preselections, coordinates and community-keys, the hierachical order, car licence flags as well as the matching topographical maps. It supports conversions between different coordinate systems and the distance calculation between the towns and places. It also supports perimeter searches and fills the results in printable lists. All results are represented in graphic overviews. The program participates network capable. In the private area and in areas of the economy and the administration, information over the German towns and places can be of benefits. This for personnel computers conceived program ORTWIN puts information over the towns and places of the Federal Republic of Germany to the disposal. The program ORTWIN works with Gauss-Krueger coordinates and geographical coordinates, that itself on the Potsdam date (DHDN, Bessel ellipsoid with central point Rauenberg) covers and with UTM coordinates, that itself on the date ETRS89 (GRS80 / WGS84) covers. Towns and places can through the complaint of data known already into the complaint fields of the data windows, through clicking in overview maps or through the selection from a sorted list is determined.
